Unrecognized Music Celebrity

Just before the free Of Montreal show started in the music store, in walks a grey-haired overweight older guy. As he starts thumbing through CDs and DVDs, none of the twenty-year-old bespecteled, ironic t-shirt wearing indie fans pay him any mind.

I recognized him immediately.It's Texas' most famous mentally ill singer/songwriter besides Roky Erickson ---- Daniel Johnston. Even though a documentary about his life was shown at the Sundance Film Festival this year, nobody in the room seemed to know who he was but me.
